Grab a colorful, unique bouquet. Pick up a fun, tasty latte. Find a treasure, or two!
I don’t quite remember how I came across The Flowerboy Project, but I’m so happy I did! Located in Venice, California, this Black-owned cafe / flower shop / boutique is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

Walking up, I was immediately mesmerized by its unique flower options. Lavender leaves? Turquoise flowers?! This is not your typical floral shop! To top it off, the floral designers helping customers with floral arrangements and bouquets were friendly and stylish.

Entering was no less spectacular. Everything from sweatshirts and bandanas to candles and greeting cards are available, each holding the same level of chicness and cool.
After being dazzled by the interesting items for sale, I made my way towards the back of the space where a barista was taking coffee orders. Of course the menu is made from colorful fridge magnets! I ordered their “Dirty Rose Girl” (yes, you read that correctly) with oat milk, which is essentially a rose infused latte with edible rose petals.
As I waited for my latte, I noticed the playful wallpaper decorating the coffee-making space as well as the dressing room. And I have to add that even the bathroom is super elegant! As other hip customers (and their cute dogs) shopped around, I tried my Dirty Rose Girl. It was quite tasty and I will most certainly be back to purchase a colorful, unique bouquet in the future.
